With a passion for healthy nutrition, I noticed that a lot of so-called “healthier” snacks still contained lots of sugars, fats or other additives. There has to be a better way, turned my frustration into a positive concept and Chiggie was born.

Journey began with a simple yet powerful idea: to put the power from supermarkets and misleading advertising back to the consumers. We aim to create a transparent, consumer-centric snacking experience that empowers individuals to make informed choices.

Timing: Power of AI

Each snack lists ingredients and nutrition labels, but for the average person, this can be overwhelming and hard to process. I believe AI will play a crucial role in human civilization. Information has been readily available on the internet for the last two decades, but AI helps us transform that information into actionable knowledge. I trained a model on snack information to simplify it into a modern, minimal, and easy-to-digest experience for consumers, helping them understand what they’re eating and its health impact.

How it works?

Let’s take the guesswork out of snack shopping. The Chiggie Snack Score evaluates the nutritional quality and health impact of snacks based on three key categories: Nutrients, Ingredients, and Health Impact. Each category is scored out of 100 points, and the overall score is the average of these three categories. We help you with our easy to understand A-E scale and Chiggie rating out of 100.

Problem

  • Control by Big Supermarkets: The snack market is dominated by a few large players, stifling innovation and competition. Margin 25-50 %

  • Non-Transparent Labels and Advertising: Consumers struggle to understand the true health impact of snacks due to unclear or misleading information

  • Information Overload: The snack and supplement market is flooded with options, making it difficult for consumers to choose the right products that align with their health goals and dietary restrictions

  • Disconnected Brands and Consumers: Small and emerging brands often lack the ability to stand out and connect with health-conscious customers in a crowded market

  • Millennials and Gen Z are becoming health aware and it is our duty to support the cause, there had been no better timing
